Thermo Group

Building Physics

The research group is active on thermodynamics studies of buildings with particular attention to the characterization of energy efficiency systems and technologies for the exploitation and integration of renewable sources. The research addresses both the civil and industrial fields, from the building scale to the urban context. Research approaches involves numerical modeling and optimization, simulation software and experimental investigations.

Several bachelor and master thesis are available, with a possibility to combine it with an internship at the TermoLAB:

  • Analysis of the possibilities of integration of innovative technologies for building envelope activation
  • Performance analysis of a an active building envelope system by means of transient simulations.
  • Energy performance of building components (window, roof, balcony).
  • The use of exergy in the characterization of buildings
