Lab. Manufacturing Technology
Manufacturing Technology Laboratory is located at the Santa Marta site of the DIEF (Via di Santa Marta 3, Room S29). The laboratory is equipped with advanced instrumentation for high-level experimental measurements aimed at the assessment and characterization of industrial manufacturing processes, as well as for the execution of pilot machining operations dedicated to process optimization. Specifically, the laboratory features the following equipment:
- Mori Seiki five-axis CNC milling center
- Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for dimensional and geometric inspection
- Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) Instrumentation
- Load cells and torque transducers for force and torque measurements
- Gauge blocks, reference artefacts, surface plates, and auxiliary equipment for shop-floor and laboratory metrology
The laboratory facilities are primarily employed to support the research activities of the group; however, they are also available for metrological services and pilot production activities in collaboration with external industrial and institutional partners.
