Bachelor's Degree Programs
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEL)
The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering trains engineers with a solid scientific foundation and a thorough command of the scientific and technical methods and contents of engineering. Graduates acquire specific competencies in industrial engineering through partially distinct study tracks (mechanical, electrical and automation, management).
Bachelor’s Degree in Management Engineering (GEL)
The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Management Engineering is designed to train professionals with suitable scientific preparation and a solid command of general engineering methods and contents, combined with specific competencies in industrial engineering. The program integrates traditional design-oriented knowledge with economic and managerial skills related to production factors.
Master’s Degree Programs
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEM)
The Master’s Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering trains highly qualified professionals capable of independently developing innovation projects in products, processes, and production systems, both in the industrial and service sectors, through specific study paths (design, machines, manufacturing technologies, ground vehicles).
Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering (ENM)
The Master’s Degree Program in Energy Engineering trains highly qualified professionals capable of independently developing innovative product solutions in specific sectors such as energy systems engineering and machine design for energy conversion and propulsion systems.
Master’s Degree in Management Engineering (MME)
The Master’s Degree Program in Management Engineering trains high-level professionals with strong statistical, analytical, and numerical skills, as well as advanced technical-scientific, economic, and organizational competencies.
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering for Sustainability (MES)
The Master’s Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering for Sustainability aims to train mechanical engineers with specialized backgrounds in various sustainability-related disciplines, supporting social and industrial transitions toward more sustainable living, production, and organizational paradigms. The MSc program offers three different curricula in the areas of: design, energy technologies, mobility.
MES and MME are delivered in blended mode (in-person/online) and offered entirely in English. In addition, MME includes an “International” curriculum which, based on a mobility agreement with Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), awards a double degree. Starting from the academic year 2024/2025, MEM, ENM, and MME each include an excellence track (Honours Program) established through an agreement with Nuovo Pignone International Srl (Baker Hughes).
DIEF also collaborates with other Departments by providing teaching coverage in the scientific-disciplinary areas for which it is responsible. It also contributes to the educational offering of PhD Programs and first- and second-level Master programs managed by other departments/universities.
