ARES (Applied Research for Energy Systems) is a multidisciplinary research group having the mission to advance innovation in the field of energy systems by combining scientific research, technological development, and industrial collaboration, thus bridging the gap between academic excellence and industrial innovation. The group’s activities encompass a wide range of topics related to energy conversion, efficiency, and sustainability. These include the study and optimization of internal combustion engines, hybrid and innovative powertrains, compression technology, and renewable energy technologies such as wind or green hydrogen production. ARES also works on smart energy systems, energy storage, and digital simulation tools for system modeling and optimization. By integrating experimental research with computational methods, ARES contributes to the development of cleaner, more efficient, and more reliable energy solutions. The group collaborates with both academic partners and industrial stakeholders at the national and international levels, promoting technology transfer and innovation in sustainable energy production and use.
