The group conducts advanced research in biomedical engineering, biomechanics, and biomedical robotics, with a strong focus on assistive and service robotics. The group aims to promote, develop, and evaluate innovative robotic and intelligent systems for healthcare, while identifying and validating novel paradigms for the prevention, monitoring, and support of neurodegenerative, chronic and neurodevelopmental diseases, addressing both physical and cognitive decline.
The research activities are oriented toward improving quality of life, autonomy, and safety through the integration of robotics, artificial intelligence, and sensing technologies. Particular attention is devoted to healthcare and assistive scenarios, including clinical decision support, long-term monitoring, and human-centered robotic solutions for vulnerable populations.
