MCUBE - Mechatronics, Mobility and Modelling
Scientific coordinator: Luca Pugi
The MCUBE group, coordinated by Professor Luca Pugi, was born from the teaching experience and research carried out within the MECHATRONICS courses (Mechatronics, Road and Rail Traction, Digital Twins of Mechatronic Systems) and the Mechanical Design Laboratory (Applied Mechanics Module). The group's core competencies include mechatronics, mobility, and dynamic systems modeling (mechanical, electromechanical, and fluidic). Research activities are conducted in collaboration with the Moving Mobility Laboratory (MOVING), where Luca Pugi is based, as well as with many other colleagues from DIEF, DICEA, and DINFO—the three departments of Industrial, Civil, and Information Engineering at the University of Florence—following the multidisciplinary, industrial-application-oriented approach typical of mechatronics.
