The T-Group (TRAF-Group), a research team coordinated by Prof. Andrea Arnone, has the mission of developing advanced numerical tools to support design innovation in applied aerodynamics. This commitment has led to the creation of in-house software, such as the TRAF code (TRAnsonic Flow solver) for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), specifically conceived for the analysis and design of turbomachinery.
The group’s main activities include the development of optimization techniques based on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for turbomachinery component design, aeroelasticity (flutter and forced response analysis), and aeroacoustics applied to the analysis and reduction of noise emissions in aircraft engines. The research is strongly oriented toward technology transfer and collaboration with the industrial sector.
